“RETRATO
REVELADO” is a theatre dance performance inspired by the concepts of time and
memory; a story about how we are living in the present looking back into our
past in order to know who we are but also looking into the future eager to
evolve without the weight of past nostalgia.
The
passing of time is seen as a journey exploring feelings of nostalgia,
melancholy, and pain which little by little make way for a joyful and ecstatic
celebration.
In this
endeavor the narrator, Ana Continente, representing the present is accompanied
by three of her students: dancer actors Manuel Lopéz and Macarena Buera
representing the past, the eagerness and freshness of youth and the dancer Ana
Martín representing the pleasures of the unexpected that makes us forget the
past and hurls us into the future.

“LA MEJANA”.
The dance
company ANA CONTINENTE DANZA was founded in 2005 and has since staged
five major dance performances while also contributing to performances of other
companies as a choreographer.
Ana
Continente Danza is very close to the Dance Theatre since the creative process
is very much influenced by the idea of “thinking” dance in order to master
movement. Dance technique can always hide the truth of your body, but through
theatre we allow ourselves to come closer to that truth. This special blend of
dance and dramatic elements is a sort of going back to the roots, giving
importance to the process of creation, just as improvisation, the other major
creative element, which makes us surpass our limits and create new authentic
movement.
